Job description
【Responsibilities】
1) Evaluation and Improvement of Rubber Compounds
- Verification of existing silicone and black rubber formulations
- Proposing improvement plans for contamination issues, hardness stability, wear resistance, and dimensional stability
- Optimization of current formulations and stabilization of production processes
2) Development of New Rubber Formulations
- Designing formulations based on material knowledge of NR / CR / EPDM / Silicone
- Selection of fillers, plasticizers, accelerators, crosslinking agents, etc.
- Optimization of vulcanization conditions
3) Selection and Evaluation of Surface Coating Agents
- Improving wet lubrication, reducing wear, and enhancing initial wiping performance
- Comparative evaluation of water-based and solvent-based coating agents
4) Physical Property Evaluation & Wiping Tests
- Testing hardness, tensile strength, elongation, abrasion resistance, rebound elasticity, etc.
- Outsourcing tests to external laboratories when necessary
- Analysis of various test data
- Evaluation using Wiper Tester (wiping performance test)
5) Preparation of Technical Documents & Improvement Proposals
- Preparing technical reports and evaluation summaries
- Participating in technical meetings with the Japan headquarters
- Technical communication with clients
Requirement
【Requirements (Two Categories: Experienced / Non-Experienced)】
① Requirements for Experienced Candidates
■Must
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with rubber or silicone materials
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Tire compounding or testing
- Industrial rubber products (hoses, seals, packings, etc.)
- Silicone products (home appliance parts, medical, industrial components)
- Development of composite materials (rubber + resin)
- Experience in physical property evaluation (hardness, tensile, abrasion, etc.)
- Ability to organize data and prepare technical reports
■Plus (Preferred)
- Development experience at an automotive parts manufacturer
- Knowledge of surface treatment and coating agents
- Ability to communicate technically in Japanese or English
- Knowledge of QC and ISO standards
※ Experience with wiper products is not required. Candidates with strong material knowledge are welcome.
② Requirements for Non-Experienced Candidates
■Must
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field
- (Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Engineering, etc.)
- Technical college or junior college graduates (science majors) are also acceptable
- Willingness to perform experiments and data measurement (hardness, tensile, etc.)
- Strong motivation to learn new technologies
- Ability to read manuals and technical documents accurately
- Ability to organize data and create reports using Excel
- Good teamwork and clear, polite communication
- Ability to perform proper Ho-Ren-So (reporting, contacting, consulting)
■Plus (Preferred)
- Experience conducting chemical experiments or material testing at university or laboratory
- Completed coursework in polymers (high-polymer materials)
- Experience in quality control, lab work, or inspection in a factory
- Ability to read technical documents in Japanese or English
- Interest in rubber, silicone, resin, or other material fields
- Strong desire to challenge R&D or materials development
